Prayer of a Parent

Here’s a recycled poem which I wrote a year ago.

My Red Leather Notebook

Precious in my eyes, this little one

Whose bright smiles cheer the day.

Precious in His eyes, this little one

Whose soul will never pass away.

Oh make me, Lord, to be so weighed down

With the burden of his soul.

To tell him that Christ, His life laid down

To make the broken sinner whole.

Help me to keep a view of life

That sees eternity over time;

Lead this child in the paths of eternal life

Whose little hand I hold in mine.
